Review: YokeyPokey Virtual Reality Arcade

July 23, 2018Autumn

YokeyPokey is located in the Brooklyn, NY and is New York City’s newest and premier virtual reality arcade with a host of family-friendly VR games to choose from.

As an arcade with a focus for children ages 7 and up, we found this to be a great introductory space for new VR players. During the summer YokeyPokey has a summer camp for children with an interest in VR gaming and education. Best of all they offer birthday and corporate event packages that are the best bang for your buck!

Last month we had our first introduction to VR after a visit to my mom’s house, so when the kids learned about our upcoming trip to YokeyPokey they were elated. We were invited to Yokey Pokey for a full hour as a family and it really wasn’t enough!  The goal of Tutus and Superheros is to share with you; what we think about a space or product, give an honest review and take the hassle out of finding out if your children will like it.

To learn more about YokeyPokey visit them online on Facebook, Instagram and at YokeyPokey.com.

Free Opinion

A: The games felt so real and like I was inside of the world. My favorite part was the spiderman game because I spent so much time shooting webs and trying to bring down robot drones. I hope we get to go back there and play some more because I didn’t want it to end. At first, I was a little nervous to try out the goggles (headset) but it was fine and not scary at all.

B: The cooking game was so fun, I pretended to eat the food and make breakfast just like daddy. I liked being able to run around the game place and choose more than one game to play.

Mommy’s POV

YokeyPokey was a blast, it’s more than just a normal arcade space to play games in. In this space, you are truly transformed into the gaming experience. The arcade is spacious, clean, and they offer a wide range of options of games to choose from for all ages and interests.

When I was there I spoke to the business manager about all of the options they offer to the Brooklyn and NYC community. At YokeyPokey they offer birthday party packages, options for corporate events, subscription services, camps and VR education. Their mission to teach VR to the world and bring together a safe VR gaming space where kids can learn and play is out of this world amazing.

YokeyPokey isn’t just for kids to enjoy! They have just as many games for adults to indulge in and have a blast for themselves with everything from feeling like you’re on a professional race course to shooting zombies. They have various stations to hook up to so no one is left standing around or feeling left out. The staff is dedicated, friendly and very knowledgeable of every game and in the entire VR space – which made for an enjoyable visit.

We had so much fun as a family AJ is already talking about it to his friends and hoping to have his next birthday party at YokeyPokey!

Party Packages

YokeyPokey is a great place for the gamers young and old and what better way to celebrate your birthday than to have the entire arcade for just you and your friends. Party packages start at $500 with up to two hours of play for 10 of your guest, that’s nearly HALF the savings! You can request more information about the party packages here.

Overall, we will be going back to YokeyPokey sometime soon and we hope when you go you have a blast!
