Celebrating the holidays is always a fun time for us in the house because this momma is always in the mood for gift giving and receiving. I think that teaching my kids about gratitude is always most important to highlight during the holiday season. As a family, we celebrate what we like to call “family-tines” day where we love on one another and celebrate in our own special way. We love game nights in our home and using Valentines Day for a little healthy competition between the four of us is always fun! During the holiday season, we stocked up on the best family board games from the classics to the new seasonal releases.
Having a family game night is a great way to reconnect as a family, celebrate and save money doing it.
Cook Dinner Together
Cooking with your family doesn’t sound like something you’d want to do? Well cooking together and giving everyone a task to do will teach your kids great skill and you’ll spend time together doing it. We have to eat anyway so why not do it with one another.
Make Valentine’s Day Crafts
Crafting with little ones is always fun! You can make heart-shaped cards and give them to one another or draw self-portraits to teach your kids about self-love!
Bake Heart Shaped Desserts
Baking is a huge thing in our family, it’s my favorite form of self-care to do alone but also with my kids. Stores like Target, Micheals, and Walmart have heart-shaped baking dishes that will make it super easy t try some heart shaped brownies or cookies.
This year I’ll be taking my favorite cookies recipe and using this pan to turn it into a cookie cake! Try out some of your favorite baking dishes this way and have fun with it.
Family Movie Night
Family movie nights are our jam! We see literally see any movie that comes out! This is an easy way to spend the night or day indoors with one another.
